Baltimore, Maryland - May 24, 2017 - Protenus, the world’s leader in proactive patient privacy analytics, announced that CEO and Co-Founder Robert Lord was selected to speak at the 13th Annual AMC Security & Privacy Conference in Chapel Hill, NC, June 12-14, 2017.

Robert will be joining other healthcare professionals on a panel session to discuss “How to Align Governance with the Practical Aspects of Information Security

During the session, Robert will comment on the current state of privacy and security within health systems across the nation. He will focus on a framework which helps session attendees understand how privacy programs mature and become more effective. He will ask attendees to honestly assess their own program’s maturity and if they are currently doing all that they can to protect patient privacy.

In particular, Robert will explore the topic as it relates to the nuances of academic medical centers as they strive to both adhere to HIPAA regulations as well as defend against malicious attacks to patient health data.

“Academic medical centers are extremely complex with an ever-changing workforce, demands related to research, and pressures associated with serving local communities,” said Robert Lord. “Understanding the intricacies of how care is provided via fluid workflows is critical to overseeing the appropriate use of patient data in practical and scalable ways.”
