Teresa has over 30 years of legal experience spanning practice areas that include healthcare, litigation management, contract negotiation, and real estate. Most recently, she served as the Deputy Privacy Officer for the Johns Hopkins Health System for eight years, handling all aspects of healthcare and patient privacy.
Teresa initially planned a career in journalism but opted to concentrate in the legal field, beginning her career as a paralegal in several local Baltimore law firms. She spent 15 years in-house at The Rouse Company and 11 years in-house at Johns Hopkins.
Teresa holds a BA, magna cum laude, from Towson University, where she was a competitive speaker and debater.
Fun fact: Teresa has a great love for gems, gemstones, and other natural stones. She considers herself a self-taught "armchair gemologist," studying and collecting various stones and items of jewelry.
