Matt is a Senior Engineer at Protenus where he applies his extensive background in modeling and simulation of physical phenomena to the challenge of understanding user behavior in healthcare systems and expanding our platform's machine learning capabilities.
In previous roles, Matt worked with the Air Force Weather Laboratory, and had a lengthy stint in the Oil & Gas industry, developing software to ensure that pipelines were as safe as possible. He has developed systems on both ends of the computational spectrum -- those requiring weeks to month to compute a single calculation and those that need to be solved in less than a second
Matt got his bachelors degree in chemical engineering with a computer science minor from the University of Delaware. He received his Ph.D. at University of Massachusetts Amherst in chemical engineering. He is also a licensed professional engineer in the state of Maryland.
Fun Fact: As a teenager, Matt was both a Boy Scout and a Girl Scout. Also, he is licensed to fly high powered amateur rockets.
