Ellen is a specialist in machine learning classification models and neural networks.
Ellen earned her Ph.D. in Neuroscience from Johns Hopkins where she successfully used high-density electrophysiological recordings of neural activity to map brain patterns associated with memory and reward recognition in the hippocampus.
Prior to grad school, Ellen studied math and chemistry at UNC. In her free time, Ellen volunteers with Thread where she partners with underperforming high school students to encourage academic enhancement and personal growth through the organization.
Fun fact: Progressing from baby mouse, to Clara, to the Sugar Plum Fairy, Ellen performed in 13 consecutive Nutcracker productions.
